Neeti Mehta: Graduate Student


Neeti Mehta is a Neuroscience graduate student in the Behavioral Immunology program under Dr. Jennifer Felger. She joined the Neuroscience graduate program at Emory in August 2016, and has been working in the Behavioral Immunology Lab since January 2017. Neeti is interested in exploring the relationship between increased inflammation, brain circuitry, and measures of anxiety in patients with depression and anxiety-related disorders.
Neeti was born and raised in a suburb of Charlotte, NC and got her Bachelors of Arts degree in Cognitive Sciences and Psychology at Rice University. Her prior research looked at cognitive deficits in schizophrenia using eye-tracking methodology in the Sereno Lab at McGovern Medical School in Houston, TX. Neeti has been trained in Indian classical dance since the age of 5, and her other hobbies include trying new restaurants and coffee shops, watching Netflix, promoting the Toco Hills shopping center (especially Top Spice), and spending time with friends and family.
